"Fades" should auto fill between video/pics

Right now, when you try and put a "fade" (Block, 3D, Blur In/Out, etc....) between pics/videos, it takes away duration time from both pics/video it sits between. I tie my pic/video placement to the music that I have imported. The placement of the pics/video is very important so if I want a "fade" transition between them, it should auto size to fit between the two pics/videos and not modify the duration of the pic/video. This causes a LOT of frustration when trying incorporate fade transitions into the slideshow. I had to just settle for the fade-in/out function on my latest project.
